Canvas Learning Management System

Canvas is our institution wide learning management system (LMS). All courses offered at Stevens automatically receive a Canvas virtual learning space to allow faculty and students to collaborate through teaching and learning.

Video Content Management System

Panopto is an online video content management platform where you can create, edit, manage and share all your videos in one place using the Panopto capture.

Zoom

Zoom is an easy-to-use video conferencing tool that lets users quickly and reliably schedule, manage, and record meetings. Zoom unifies cloud video conferencing, simple online meetings, group messaging, and a software-defined conference room solution into one easy-to-use platform.

Learning Analytics

Learning analytics provides important information to faculty on a range of factors related to student performance and success involving Canvas, Kaltura, and other learning technologies and systems. This information supports the critical work of faculty in areas including student engagement, academic performance, and learning outcomes, among others.

Beyond teaching and learning, this information can also support the assessment and accreditation efforts of academic units.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is an online library that offers high-quality instructional videos which cover a wide variety of topics, such as business, software, technology, and art. This platform is a great way to discover, develop, and fine tune personal and professional skills. LinkedIn Learning is designed for all levels of learners and is available whenever someone is ready to learn.

Turnitin

Turnitin is the Stevens campus-wide writing enhancement tool. The tool is fully integrated with Canvas and is a technology to improve student writing and empower original thinking through the means of an anti-plagiarism checker.

Academic Recording Studio

Academic Recording Studio, located on the 5th floor of the Altorfer Academic Complex at 610 River Street, is an academic recording center for Stevens Institute of Technology. In this area, faculty and staff can create a wide variety of videos to enhance course content and departmental websites.

Resources for all aspects of course design to enhance the teaching and learning experience through the use of the practices and digital engagement.

LockDown Browser

LockDown Browser is a secure browser for taking quizzes in Canvas. It prevents the student from printing, copying, and accessing other URLs or applications during an assessment.

Classroom Database

Here is a list of buildings and their classrooms on campus with how-to guides, troubleshooting tips, and photos on using equipment located in each classroom. Classroom equipment varies and includes cameras, microphones, speakers, and projectors to help you teach an interactive course.

Learning Continuity

A Learning Continuity Plan allows instructors to readily switch from face-to-face instruction to online instruction in the event of a university closing by leveraging the learning technology tools available at Stevens.

XR Lab

The Stevens XR Lab provides the entire Stevens community the opportunity to explore augmented reality, virtual reality, 360-degree video, and other extended reality (XR) technologies.

Poll Everywhere

Poll Everywhere is an online polling platform that allows students to vote on custom polls ─ including multiple choice and free response questions ─ in real time. You can use this tool to engage students in an interactive environment, take attendance, administer quizzes, or gauge understanding. Poll Everywhere is connected to Canvas so you can import your course roster and then can directly export grades from a poll to the gradebook.

Attendance

The aPlus+ attendance platform is a flexible and comprehensive way of recording attendance that is integrated into Canvas.
