How to install latest version of Microsoft Office using Office 365


You can download the latest Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote) using Office 365. All Stevens students, faculty, and staff can log into Office 365 ( using their Stevens email address and password. You can also find many free Microsoft apps for Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive and OneNote in the app stores for iOS, Android and Windows mobile. Always sign in by using your Stevens email address as your username and your password. 

With Office 365, you will be able to share your calendar with your peers to setup times to meet on projects or set aside time to meet with your advisor or professors. Create, edit, share, and access your files in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote on your mobile device, tablet, in a web browser or in the Office desktop apps for Mac and PC anywhere.

What else do I get?

You will have access to the online (browser-based) versions of Office once you've logged into Office 365.

You can also download all of the Microsoft Office applications on your mobile devices using your Stevens credentials.

You can install MS Office on up to 5 devices. You will have access to the entire suite as long as you are enrolled in Stevens.

Important Warning Regarding Visio and Project

IMPORTANT: Due to licensing, you cannot use this method to install Microsoft Office if you need access to Microsoft Visio or Project. Find more information on how to use Microsoft Visio or Project online here.


Step #1 - Log into the Office 365 website. Use your primary Stevens email address (e.g.



Step #2: You will be redirected to the Stevens login page (still within the Microsoft Office 365 site). Please note - this login page is being updated as users move to modern authentication for Office 365. Use your Stevens credentials.



You can access the browser-based versions of Microsoft Office by clicking on the application name (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

You also have the option to install the latest version of Microsoft Office onto your machine.

Step #3: Click Install Office 2016 and complete the installation.







You now have the latest version of Microsoft Office installed.
