Map a Network Drive on Mac OS X

To access the "Storage01" drive off-campus make sure to sign in to Global Protect VPN.
Note: We will be moving away from Stroage01 to Box for content sharing in most cases.


Instructions

Step 1 - Open Map Dialogue

  • Select Finder by clicking on your desktop wallpaper
  • Open the Go menu and select Connect to Server

Step 2 - Enter the Drive Name

  • Type smb://servername.stevens.edu/sharename into the Server Address field, where servername is the name of the server (either storage01 or campus) and sharename is the drive on storage01 or the campus home directory that you are trying to connect to.
    • NOTE: You MUST replace the word sharename with the share you're trying to map (eg. public, ms, your username).
    • Clicking the + button will add the share to your favorite servers list for easy access in the future.
  • Click Connect to connect to storage01 or the campus home directory. The connection will then prompt you for your credentials.

Step 3 - Enter Campus Domain Account Information

  • Type your Stevens username into the Name field.
  • Type your Stevens account Password into the Password field.
  • After clicking OK you can access the mapped drive from your desktop, as seen below.

  • After clicking Connect you can access the mapped drive from your Desktop or using the Finder Application, as seen below.
