Presentation

Select the Presentation Button to open Presentation options. Choose your desired presentation source (USB-C, HDMI, White Board or Solstice). 

USB C: This option will allow you to present to the projector using the USB C cable located on the podium. 

HDMI: This option will allow you to present to the projector using the HDMI cable located on the podium. 

Solstice: This option will allow you to wirelessly present using Solstice to the projector. 

Touch: This option will allow you to project the Touch Screen White Board located to the Right of the Podium.

Presentation options

 

Microphone Settings

To mute or un-mute the classroom microphone, on the Presentation Menu select the Mic is Active button

Speaker Settings

To adjust the classroom Speaker volume, on the Presentation Menu move the Room Speakers level from left to right. To turn the classroom speakers on or off, select Speakers On.

Camera Controls

Select Camera on the bottom of the screen. A camera self-view preview located in the middle of the screen will be displayed to help align desired camera angle. Align camera angle by using the presets or by using the directional arrow pad. Once your desired angle is set, select podium presentation, then select your desired source to proceed with laptop/device projection. Camera tracking will only follow one presenter at a time. To turn Camera tracking on and off, select tracking on or off.

Zoom Screen
To learn how to use the Zoom Option on the touch panel click here.

To exit the Zoom Screen on the touch Panel, follow the instructions below: 

1. To exit the following screen, touch the top of the panel.

2. Click the home icon to proceed back to the main menu.

3. Once the Home Button is selected, click Presentation. You should now be in the Presentation menu of the Main Screen.

Interactive Whiteboard Display Screens

To power on the Interactive Whiteboard display next to the podium, click Settings.

Under Settings, you will seen an option for Touch Screen. To power on click ON, to power off click OFF

Whiteboard to Projector 

To display your whiteboarding content to the projector, use the following steps: 

1. Power on the whiteboard using the instructions above.

2.  On the interactive whiteboard, touch the arrow button on the top of the screen.

3. You will now see the following screen. Click Export

4. On the Export Screen, select Screen Share. Once selected, touch Wired. You should now be projecting your whiteboard content to the room.

Interactive Whiteboard Display

The Samsung Flip is an interactive whiteboard display that allows you to annotate, email, and share content for seamless collaboration.

How to Whiteboard

To begin, touch the screen with your finger or the Samsung Flip Pen located on the whiteboard. You will see a menu below that allows you different options for whiteboarding:

Color Wheel Icon: To change the font colors of the pen.

Pen Icon: To change the texture of the pen to either brush or pen.

X Icon: To remove and create a new blank whiteboard screen.

Erase: The flip allows for palm-swipe erasing. To erase specfific content on the board, use the palm of your hand.

Email your Whiteboard Content 

 

To email whiteboard content, touch the arrow button on the top of the screen. You will see the following menu, click Export.

On the Export Menu, choose EMAIL.

Under the email menu, click To and touch the Plus Sign. A keyboard will appear, type in the desired email address you’d like to send your content to, and click Done.

The email address should now appear under the To Field. You will also see an attachment preview of your whiteboarding content. When ready to email, click Send on the top right-hand corner.

Zoom Settings

Open Zoom settings then select VIDEO tab located on the left hand side of the screen. Select the classroom's camera from the drop down menu. ***CAMERA NAME MAY VARY FROM ROOM TO ROOM***

Zoom Audio Settings

Open Zoom settings then select AUDIO tab located on the left hand side of the screen. Select the Microphone and SPEAKER from the drop down menu. ***MICROPHONE AND SPEAKER NAME MAY VARY FROM ROOM TO ROOM*** Testing your selected options is highly recommended.

Zoom Room Controls

Using Zoom Rooms  

Peirce 116 has an internal Zoom Room that allows you to connect to Zoom using the classroom's built in microphone, camera, and speaker. Zoom Rooms gives you the option to share content through zoom using the USB-C Cable or Solstice.

1. Connect your computer to the projector using the your desired source of input: USB-C or Solstice

2. Select Zoom on the lower left corner of the touch panel located on the podium as shown below.

3. Start your scheduled Zoom Meeting on your computer and when prompted click the x button on the top right.  Your zoom meeting should now be started on your computer.

Note: You do not need to join by audio or camera since you will be using the built in camera and microphone.

4. On the touch panel after selecting Zoom, you will see the following screen, click Join on the left hand side.

5. Once you click join, you will see the option to enter your Zoom Meeting ID. Enter the Meeting ID of your Zoom Meeting. After entering the ID, click Join.

6. The classroom will now be a participate in your Zoom Meeting. Admit the room on your computer and make it a cohost. We reccomend having the classroom as a cohost so that it has hosting privelages. 

7. Once admitted, you will see the following screen on the touchpanel.

 8. To share content through Zoom via USB-C or Solstice, touch the top of the panel. Select the Home Icon that appears. When selected, you will see the following screen: 

If connected via USB-C, click Podium USB-C.

If connected via Solstice, click Main Solstice.

You should now be sharing your content through Zoom.

8. To use the interactive whiteboard through zoom, share a whiteboard screen on your computer. Once shared, you will be able to use the interactive whiteboard in the classroom. 

9. To record your lecture, click Record via Zoom on your computer. 

 

Using Zoom Rooms (Not Connected to the Podium) 

Peirce 116 has an internal Zoom Room that allows you to connect to the classroom's built in microphone, camera, and speaker via Zoom without needing to plug in your computer to the podium. 

1. Start your scheduled Zoom Meeting on your computer and when prompted click the x button the top right.  Your zoom meeting should now be started on your computer.

Note: You do not need to join by audio or camera since you will be using the built in camera and microphone.

2. Select Zoom on the lower left corner of the touch panel located on the podium as shown below.

3. Once you click Zoom, you will see the following screen, click Join on the left hand side.

 7. To share content, proceed to Share Your Screen via Zoom on your Computer. You are now connected to the internal Zoom Room in the classroom using the microphone, speaker, and camera without plugging into the podium.

8. To use the interactive whiteboard through zoom, share a whiteboard screen on your computer. Once shared, you will be able to use the interactive whiteboard in the classroom. 

9. To record your lecture, click Record via Zoom on your computer. 

 

Basic Trouble Shooting Tips:

No image displaying from projector:

-Make sure cables are secured in the connection wall plate underneath the whiteboard

-Make sure cables are not damaged, if they are please contact User Support Services at support@stevens.edu or 201-380-6599.

-Please make sure your laptop is set to Duplicate mode (PC setting) or Mirror display (Mac setting).

-Press SOURCE on the wall control to cycle to appropriate source.

No Audio from the speakers:  

-For USB-C and HDMI, make sure the audio cable is secure in the connection wall plate and the laptop.

-Check audio settings on laptop to see if Epson PJ is selected when using HDMI.

No Camera :

-Please make sure you are connected to the podium using the USB-C cable. Camera does not work with HDMI. 

Cannot Connect to Solstice Wireless Presentation:

-Please make sure you are on the Stevens network, Solstice is available to Faculty, Staff, and Students. 

-For iPad users, please make sure you have selected Screen Mirroring option.

-Please make sure you are typing in the correct four-digit key code, a new code is created every time you are disconnected.
