Canvas

Canvas is our institution wide learning management system (LMS). All courses offered at Stevens automatically receive a Canvas virtual learning space to allow faculty and students to collaborate through teaching and learning. Kaltura

Kaltura is an online video management platform where you can create, edit and manage all your videos in one place using Kalturas CaptureSpace desktop recorder.

Zoom

Zoom is Stevens Campus wide web-conferencing system that has also been integrated into Canvas.

Academic Recording Studio

Academic Recording Studio, located on the 5th floor of the Altorfer Academic Complex at 610 River Street, is an academic recording center for Stevens Institute of Technology. In this area, faculty and staff can create a wide variety of videos to enhance course content and departmental websites.

Learning Analytics

Learning analytics is “the measurement, collection, analysis, and reporting of data about learners and their contexts, for purposes of understanding and optimizing learning and the environments in which it occurs.”

Course Storage Report - View storage space used by each course in a selected term.
Student Access Report - View all the activity from students enrolled in a given course or all courses in a given term.
Enrollment Report - View users enrollment status ( teacher, student, TA) in a given course.
Student No Submission Report - View all students enrolled in a course who have not submitted an assignment in Canvas.
Unpublished Course Report - View the courses for a given term that are not published.
Student Zero Activity Report - View students who have not visited a course in Canvas since enrollment.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning is an online library that offers high-quality instructional videos which cover a wide variety of topics, such as business, software, technology, and art. This platform is a great way to discover, develop, and fine tune personal and professional skills. LinkedIn Learning is designed for all levels of learners and is available whenever someone is ready to learn.

CATME

The Comprehensive Assessment for Team-Member Effectiveness (CATME) - Online Peer Evaluation Tool.

Turn It In

Turn It In is the Stevens campus-wide writing enhancement tool. The tool is fully integrated with Canvas and is a technology to improve student writing and empower original thinking through the mean of an anti-plagiarism checker.

LockDown Browser & Respondus Monitor

LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment in Canvas. When students use LockDown Browser to access a quiz in Canvas, they are unable to print, copy, visit other websites, access other applications, or close a quiz until it is submitted for grading. Respondus Monitor is a webcam feature for LockDown Browser that records students during online, non-proctored quizzes.

Support for course design to enhance the teaching and learning experience through the use of the practices and digital engagement.

Blackboard Collaborate

The Blackboard Collaborate web conferencing tool has been fully integrated into Canvas, making synchronous and asynchronous communication, collaboration, and presentation easily accessible. Built on the JAVA launcher, features include desktop and application sharing and a full-featured whiteboard. Participants can also communicate with chat, audio, video, file sharing, and within breakout rooms. Sessions can easily be recorded for later playback.
